My embroidery machine was making an awful noise and beeping and screaming at me and generally went on strike last week. I found a delightful repair shop, though (Ken's Sewing Machine in Muscle Shoals, Alabama). They went out of their way to work me into their repair schedule so that I could get the repair done quickly. Phew! I am up and running again.
I love the strawberry soda shirt...the photo is washing out the colors. The aqua is gorgeous in person and I am probably going to re-order the fabric even though the first run of ruffle pants from it hasn't even shipped yet.

This week has been crazy....the best layed plans of mice and men...in other words...nothing has gone as planned. My mother in law has been ill and this has thrown a major cog into our wheels. But...here are some pictures of some of the things that did go right this week.
These duffles by Stephen Joseph are new for Fall 2009...I think they turned out cute! They are a toddler sized duffle so are a little shorter in length than an average sized duffle...but then most toddlers are shorter in height than an average adult...ok..bad attempt at humor! Anyway, they are a nice addition to the line and I love that they coordinate so nicely with the quilted backpacks.

We are busily getting ready for the show season and our "kick-off" Fall show is the Birmingham, AL Southern Women's Show. It is in our hometown (which sure makes it easier in case I forget to bring something!). This show is Thursday, September 24th - Sunday September 27th.
Hours :
Thursday: 10am-7pm
Friday: 10am-8pm
Saturday: 10am-7pm
Sunday: 11am-5pm
If you are in the Birmingham area I would love to meet you at our booth at the Southern Women's Show...A Honey of a Deal is the first booth on the far LEFT as you walk into the show....right beside the concession stand. This will be our third year in this location and we always really enjoy the energy and fun of this event.
Come see us first so we can have your custom monogramming order finished for you by the time you are ready to leave the show. We have a large selection of baby gifts as well as Stephen Joseph backpacks and lunch saks that can be personalized. This year we have also added eco-chic totes that can be customized with a vinyl monogram!

My sister-in-law needed a baby gift for a co-worker so I came up with these bibs and then embroidered names on white minky dot lovies as well...it is for twins...cute!!
Here are some other baby gifts from this week...phew! This is for a baby boy shower in which the baby nursery theme was sailboats in primary colors. I had a lot of fun putting this gift together.
As you can see I was having fun with the stacked names pattern that I had put together...I ended up doing for different customers bibs with it...
This is a combed cotton interlock blanket to which I added an applique and the babies name to finish it.
I had to throw in a cute receiving cap with a name as well...too cute to pass up
And here is a baby girl personalized gift. This blanket is so feminine and girly...soft pink plush on one side and a vintage inspired floral print on the reverse...it also makes it a great blanket to add a monogram to...

So my three year old comes up to me just now..."Mommy, where's the gamote (remote) for the tv...I need to go potty. " Basically, he wants to pause it so that he doesn't miss a second of Diego. Sheesh!
Having a DVR has created a monster...how do you explain to a stubborn three year old that not all tv's let you "pause" them....he thinks I am holding out on him.
Here are a few new boys designs.

It is so nice to have one of the kids in school during the day...aaahhhh! Next week the younger one starts Mothers Day Out...then the celebrating (ahem...working) can begin in earnest on cleaning, organizing and packing the house. Until then...I thought it was going to be a lite week for embroidering shirts but I have had several phone orders already. The Lord provides. Thank you!!
This was a "sell-out" at the event that I did this past week-end.
I had this car digitized last year and I still love it for this year. I will probably add another color/fabric arrangement in addition to this...I am waiting for my shipment of size 4 boy shirts to get here to start sewing boy designs in a large way.
This princess carraige is a favorite of the little girls that stop by my booth at fairs.
This letter square can be done in a variety of fabrics.
This is a swirly rectangle that I had digitized and the letter with squiggles is added to the top. I have used this extensively as it looks great with a variety of materials (as long as it doesn't have too busy of a pattern). Below is another color option..
Not the best resolution picture...this is why I don't use this particular camera anymore!

If you are ever in the market for custom stationary here is a great website...

Extremely cute...very very reasonable. Love the tablets and the enclosure cards.
Here are some cute cheerleader applique t-shirts. The colors and the school letter can be changed to customize it for a specific school. I can't believe it is already football season!

Phew. I took Monday off from sewing. I had a great show in Nashville this week-end and the weather was picture perfect! So cool that I did not need a fan...in August! Can't beat that!
Here are some bibs that I just sent to a customer today. These are double sided terry cloth with a velcro closure. They are $8.00 with whatever design on them that you would like. According to this customer, they wash great.....they must since this is her third order. Great testimony.
I LOVE this baby dragon...he will be going on boys shirts when I finish with customer orders later this week.
